Message de clems19 posté le 27-04-2016 à 15:12:03 (S | E | F)
Bonjour,
voici ma synthèse sur la notion de pouvoir, est-ce que vous pourriez la corriger s'il vous pait?
Merci pour vos réponses.
Cordialement

I am going to give a definition of power is the ability to control others governments make laws to exercise force. However, there is also a counter power to resist these laws. In class, we asked ourselves: “How did Great Britain exert its power to build and extend its empire throughout history?”
Foremost, I will talk about two extracts of movie called Braveheart. Then, I will present an extract from a text whose title is “A passage to India “. Finally, I will talk about a cartoon from a website cartoonstock.com. The theme of all documents is the colonisation by the English.
The first document is a movie about the colonisation of Scotland by his in 1280 A.D., and the main character is William Wallace from Scotland. In the first extract, the king of England implants a strategy to conquer Scotland. Because the king of Scotland is dead and he does not have any children. Therefore, the English king marries his son to daughter of the French king. His final goal is to exterminate the Scottish race. Then, the second extract is about a fight between Wallace and the English soldiers, since William is married in secret. So the English soldiers raped his wife but she defended herself. She was accusing of assault or a king’s, so the sheriff slit her throat. That is why William Wallace pretended to surrender but he fights the British with the help of villagers.
Afterwards, I will talk about an extract from the novel entitled “A passage to India” written by E.M. Forster and published in 1924, before the independence of India. This passage is a quarrel between Mrs Moore and her son Ronny. In the extract, Mrs Moore reproaches her son for felt superior to the Indian people. Nevertheless, Ronny, is the servant of the British government, he must be a judge or a magistrates. Even by working-hard, he thinks the justice of Indian is corrupted. Finally, the author wants to denounce the attitude of the British officials in their colonies like India.
Finally, the last document is a cartoon. The scene takes place at work, in an office. The room is decorates with a banner and colourful garlands. There are six colleagues: two Asian-looking people standing and the other colleagues are on their knees and boring. This attitude is related to the message on a banner that is “We apologize for the British Empire”. The message shows that some British feel ashamed of their colonial past so they want to make up for their behaviour.
