Hello,

"The" is a definite article used before a noun:
The cat is in the tree.

"It" is a personal pronoun that could replace "the cat"
The cat is in the tree = It's in the tree.

"its" is a possessive adjective used when an object is the "owner":
I have got a car: The colour of the car is black = its colour is black.

"in" is a preposition used when somebody or something is inside. It is a position.
I am in my office. The ball is in the box.

We use "into" when we go from ouside to inside. It is a movement.
I am walking into my office.
I am putting the ball into the box.

"In" can be the short form of "into":
Come in ! Come into the room !
