Hello,
Yes, there is.

a preposition comes before a noun or a pronoun.

in normally means you are inside.
on means you are on the surface of something
for means that an object is for somebody, you will give it to him.
to usually implies a movement:
I am at school. I go to school.

There are of course other meanings.
Certain verbs or adjectives require certain prepositions:
I am looking at the car.
I am waiting for my friend.
I am writing to you.
I am interested in maths.
I am keen on sports.

why do we use prepositions like that in those sentences?
What time did you arrive at your office this morning?
Today I am resting in my garden because the weather is so nice.

Hello,
it is very logical :

in means you are inside, it is a position.
to means you are going to a certain place, it is a movement
at means you are somewhere to do something, it is a position with a purpose.

I am at the cinema (to watch a film)
I am at school (to work) but there is a dog in the school (he is not there to work)
I am going to school (movement).

What time did you arrive at your office this morning?
to arrive is a verb of position so at is correct.
What time did you go to the office ? (movement)
Today I am resting in my garden because the weather is so nice.
to rest, to relax, is not a verb of movement, in simply means inside my garden, it is logical.

Hello,
a double click on solution opens a dictionary:

example: "An innovative solution to the eternal dilemma"

I hope they find a solution to this problem // for this problem could also be used.
