Bonjour,
Lisant l’actualité ce matin, je tombe sur une formulation qui m’est étrangère : « Our reporter went to Dunedin, home to the suspected gunman ».
« Home TO the suspected gunman », plutôt que « Home OF the suspected gunman »?
Je ne doute pas un instant que le journal parle bien anglais mais pourquoi TO plutôt que OF?

effectivement, le New York Times dit:
The suspect: Our reporter went to Dunedin, home to the suspected gunman, and spoke to people the suspect interacted with, including members of his rifle club.
Il faut prendre la phrase comme signifiant:
The suspect: Our reporter went to Dunedin, which provides a home to the suspected gunman,/ which is a home to / and spoke to people the suspect interacted with, including members of his rifle club.
Sinon, on aurait :
The suspect: Our reporter went to Dunedin, the home of the suspected gunman, and spoke to people the suspect interacted with, including members of his rifle club.
Mais la ville entière n'est pas le foyer de ce monsieur.

The suspect: Our reporter went to Dunedin, home to the suspected gunman,( = where the suspected gunman lives/lived) and spoke to people the suspect interacted with, including members of his rifle club.
